CHOOSING A GOOD PHOTO AND COLOR PALETTE
FINDING THE RIGHT PHOTO
Pull up some photos of yourself and start looking for one to make into an icon!
Qualities of a good icon photo reference:
High Contrast
The Whole Head is in Frame Including Hair
Relatively Close Up
Good Image Quality
I would recommend starting with with a picture of you wearing a mask (#2020). The mouth and nose are the one of the more time consuming things when making this icon and the mask makes it easier if it is your first time working in this style. I will be working on a masked photo as well.
PICKING A COLOR PALETTE
Do a quick google search for “dope color palettes” or something along those lines and scroll through google images for something that you like!
I’m going to go with a monochromatic blue color palette that I found on SchemeColor. If you do not like these colors, you should find a palette that you like.
